Ali Farboud discovered his artistic voice early in life. As the son of a diplomat, he grew up in Europe and traveled extensively. Photography seemed like a natural fit to capture the moments he experienced in his travels. At Ali’s first showing in Berlin, critics proclaimed his distinctive photographic style: “Er malt mit seiner kamera!” (He paints with his camera!)

Ali is known for his conceptual and environmental portraits, which capture the unique moments in his subjects lives...“the part that inspires me most is taking all the pieces of the puzzle, pushing the creative limits and coming up with amazing images.”

With degrees in Art History (American College in Paris), Photography (Rochester Institute of Technology) and Film (New York University), Ali’s approach to each creative expression is with absolute control of every detail from developing the scene to controlling each precise nuance of light. His extensive background in Los Angeles’s film industry has honed his lighting skills as well as developed a unique approach to handling all types of jobs. Ali can orchestrate complex setups and yet be unobtrusive to capture the candid moments. National photographic magazines have published articles on Ali Farboud’s expertise in lighting and design.
